I’ve noticed some things about our recent blizzards that I want to share with you. Some of these things are things that my mom and I talked about recently.
I want to preface this by saying that I believe that NOTHING happens by accident or coincidence. There is always a rhyme or reason to anything and everything that happens.
Our last major snow storm happened about 4 days ago and our blizzard happened almost two weeks ago. What I’ve noticed is how the grocery stores have not recovered from the shortage of food in the stores. But what’s more significant is what is missing in the stores. I’ve gone to several King Soopers stores, even Target and Walmart and most of them are out of Meat, bread and milk. Now for those who’ve studied Torah with me. This is no SMALL thing. Meat represents the mature word. Bread the daily word. Milk is for those beginning to learn.
Now more specifically, the milk that we did find was only low fat and skim milk available to buy. Now let’s take that a step deeper. If there’s only skim and low fat milk available (sure its readily available cause it isn’t the most appetizing milk to drink) but also because this is all the world has to offer those who are starved for a deeper truth and word from YHVH. Of the types of bread available at most stores only bagels were available. Most stores were out of all of the buns, rolls, and other pastries, including donuts, cinnamon rolls etc. Walmart and Target in all cases that I went to had a few more selections in bread but these were still very slim and only offered at the stores that had grocery sections.
In the meat sections I found that most stores had NO beef products at all, except maybe hot dogs and brats. Not surprising as this is the holiday season. The chicken, turkey and fish was surprisingly low. However, I found that most of the pork was available with the exception of ham. Now take a look deeper at pork for those who study Torah, the understanding of clean and unclean comes into play. Pork is considered and unclean meat, this meat is not edible as food. So now at the grocery stores they were out of turkey but had a surprising amount of ham available to purchase. So this says to me that the words offers only unclean meat word to those who are starved for meat.
The other thing that I’ve noticed is the lack of snow removal in the residential neighborhoods and side streets. Some apt complexs and HOA have taken a diligent effort in removing the snow to help prevent black ice patches on the sidestreets and sidewalks. However, in most neighborhoods, side streets and strip malls the snow and ice is deplorable. The ice is easily remove as the weather is warm enough to break it apart and move it to the grassy areas. This helps with spring time fertilization. At a deeper look, this is similar to those in hurricane Katrina. They relied on the systems set up by the local, county and state government. These system are man made and are NOT reliable at BEST.
Also in many residential areas the trash has not been picked up. On the news they’ve instructed viewers to call 311 if your normal trash pick has not occured. I have a relative whose trash has not been picked up in over 2 weeks. The good thing about our cold temperatures is that we not attracting vermin to the trash. Also like hurricane Katrina the damages in most areas was so severe. They are still clearing away certain areas. In others they’re trying to repair the damages and salvage items that should be burned and moved forward.
We are going to have to rely more and more on YHVH in the days ahead. The grocery stores are running out of the food that we need to survive but have an abundant supply of food that is unclean and not at all nutrious. Our government systems are failing and at an alarming rate and all we’ve been instructed to do is call 311 have our trash removed in 24 hours. When these system already know that they are two weeks behind.
It’s sad but true. YHVH is the one who heals, feeds us our daily bread and comforts us in times of trouble. He prepares those who hear and listen. He blesses those who are obedient to His word.
