Midrash

Shalom and Hi,

I remember having YHVH tell me months ago, that the truth or true nature of people and things is going to be revealed, and that it would not just be believers but everyone. So after being reminded of that, I started thinking about the pastor in Colorado Springs who recently confessed to wrong doing, and wondered why we are seeing this more and more in men and I think I know why? It isn’t that women are better than men, because YHVH tell us in his word, that “all have come short,” so it cannot be that.

The answer lies in the fact that YHVH made the man first. He is and always will be first, so anything YHVH addresses will always be in and through the man first, whether it is blessing or curse, it is thru the man.

As an example, I remember a family I knew growing up. For years, it was assumed that her husband was this bad, awful person, because most of what was said, came directly from her. It was said for so long that it was believed. After he died, and her covering was removed, it started to become very obvious that he was not as bad as she said he was, and that he had covered her. He wasn’t the only person in the relationship with warts.

I have therefore, realized, we incorrectly assume in these situations, that the woman can be ok and just the man is wrong, but not so. If there is any wrong in the woman (and we know there is because “all have come short,”) hers (and in the case of married women) will be covered by her husband so that it will not be easily discerned or obvious. She will have a tendency to look like the innocent or wounded party. There are instances where she is, but not always. The wrongs will always be dealt with thru the man. It is therefore, another reason why we as women should be praying for men. If they are exposed, we are. If they are uncovered, we are.

It is YHVH’s intent to deal with the “unclean” if we will let him, but if we do not, the “unclean” eventually becomes exposed/uncovered for all to see.

For those of you that are husband and wife, each knows the other’s “unclean.” Women, since I am one, we need to remember, just as we know our husband, our husband knows us.

With much love and affection to you all….

Devorah

  1. In regard to the pastor, I did hear, on the radio, excerpts from some sermons that he had given recently. Specifically, he prayed that deception and lies that were being spoken (in reference to the politicians and the elections yesterday) would be exposed so that his congregation (and others) would be able to make wise choices when voting. YHVH heard his prayer but didn’t answer it as the pastor had intended. YHVH DID expose deception and lies, but it was directed toward the pastors own life! I’m sure the pastor hadn’t counted on that – or maybe he had become so blinded by his sin, that it did not occur to him that this might happen. In any event, what it made ME do was (1) think about the words I speak in prayer and not speak so lightly or frivously to YHVH and (2) get on my face and pray that YHVH would continue to flay me like a fish and expose the deception in my OWN life so that I can be whole. That whole event, really sobered me and my thinking about my relationship with God. YHVH can change our circumstances in an instant, as was seen with the pastor.

In regard to men and women, I have really been doing a lot of thinking about Adam and Hava, Abraham and Sara, and how they got into the various messes that they did. As Yeshua is the head of the church, so husbands are the head (and shepherd) of the family. Ultimately the men are responsible and women should be a reflection of their good leadership. Everything is all mixed up today within relationships. Men and weak and women have turned into masculine monsters. While men and women, individually, need to take stock of and responsibility for, their individual lives, I believe that women play a KEY role in turning the tide for men and have much power to do so by honoring, respecting, and praying for men, acting feminine and acting as though we are vulnerable and in need of the protection of men. Women don’t act vulnerable any more but men have a natural desire to protect and care for what they perceive is vulnerable. Women cannot continue to bargain and influence decisions of men by trying to take over. Hey – I’ve tried that approach and it never works and only builds walls. Its complicated and there is plenty of blame to go around, but for me, I am committed to be a more respectful, vulnerable woman toward my man and let YHVH do the rest of the work that I cannot control. I can only control me.

  2. New Topic: Passing on the Mantle

    II Kings 2:1 – 25

Elijah (My God is Yah) is about to ascend to heaven. Elijah tells Elisha (God is my salvation) to stay here (in Gilgal [rolling]) as YHVH has sent him to Beth-el (Mighty House).

Elisha says to Elijah, as YHVH lives and by your life that I shall not leave you. So they both went down to Beth-el.
The prophets disciples who has been in Beth-el came out to Elisha and said to him, Did you know that today YHVH is taking your master from upon your head?
Elisha says to them, I know also, Be silent.

Elisha is aware that his master, teacher, father is about to be taken from him. The disciples come to Elisha and warn him of this. Elisha tells them, that he knows that his master is about to leave him and to be silent, for he’s to learn yet one final lesson from Elijah.

YHVH then sends Elijah to Jericho (moon, fragrant) and for him to stay in Beth-el. He again swears that he will not leave Elijah. So they both journey to Jericho. The prophets disciples who had been in Jericho approached Elisha and said to him, Did you know that today UYHVH is taking your master from upon your head?
Elisha again says: I know also, Be silent!

Elijah then said to him, please stay here for YHVH has sent me to Jordan (descender). Elisha says as YHVH lives and by your life that I shall not leave you!. So they both went. 50 men of the prophets disciples went, standing opposite them at a distance, and the two of them stood at the Jordan.

Elijah took his mantle and folded it over and struck the water, which split apart this way and that, and they both crossed over on dry land. as they wer ecrossing, Elijah said to Elisha, Request what I should do for you before I am taken away from you.

Elijah and Elisha both know that Elijah will soon ascend into heaven. Elisha doesn’t wish to part from Elijah but it is inevitable. Elijah asks Elisha what does Elisha wish to be given from Elijah before he goes.

Elisha says “May twice as much as your spirit be mine.”

Elijah says, You have made a difficutl request, If you see me taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if nyou do not, then it will not happen. As they were walking and coversing, behold! — a chariot of fire and horses of fire [appeared] and separated between the two fo them, and Elijah asceded to Heaven in the whirlwind. Elisha was watch and shouting, “Father! Father! Israel’s Chariots and horsemen!” And then he saw them no more. He took hold of his garments and rent them into two pieces.

He picked up Elijah’s mantle, which had fallen from him, and he returned and stood at the bank of the Jordan. he took Elijah’s mantel, which had falled from him, and struck the water and said, “Where is YHVH the Yah of Elijah?” he too struck the water and it split apart this way and that, and Elisha crossed over.

Elijah’s spirit passed from himself to Elisha. Once passed over Elisha could now cross over the Jordan. He could also see as Elijah saw. He saw the war fare of Israel.

The prophets’ disciples want to search for Elijah, but he is in fact gone.

Elisha then heals the water of Jericho. Then he went from Jericho to Beth-el. From Beth-el (mighty house) he went to Mt. Carmel (garden land) and from there to Samaria (watch mountain).
