Ezekiel (#3168 – YHVH will strengthen)
I have been studying Ezekiel, and found that I never got vary far and was always being brought back to the first chapter.
I was taught for years, this vision given tp Ezekiel was describing various types of angelic beings, but there is perhaps another meaning.
When understanding the word ofYHVH, we need to always remember, while the word speaks about angels, various aspects of the creation, other nations, etc. the word was not written to angels or the creation, it was written to and for mankind, the descendents of Adam.
With this in mind let’s take another look at this first chapter of Ezekiel.
1. It happened in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth of the month, as I was among the exile by the River Chebar, now the heavens opened, and I saw visions of YHVH.
It is important that we be told not only the time and place of this vision but the reason for it. In telling us the timing of this vision and when it happens, Ezekiel is telling us the spiritual condition of Israel at the time; a judgment has occurred and is being carried out. Ezekiel is part of this exile as well; not just based on whether he is guilty or not, but because of the nature of his name; “YHVH will strengthen.” Regardless to your condition at any time, you always need “Ezekiel, you always need “YHVH will strengthen.” By telling us the year, month, and date we are being told the time and season of this vision. Giving us the name of the River Chebar tells us by definition of the name Chebar, that this exile will be for an extent period of time or a great while, but also that the vision has a future fulfillment of a great while or at great length. (Chebar means: #3529 the same as #3528: length, from #3527 prop. extent of time, i.e. a great while; hence long ago, formerly, hereto-already-seeing that which.)
2. On the fifth ofthe month, which was in the fifth (#3078 – YHVH will establish),
Giving us the name of the King, give us insight into the purpose and intent for this exile/judgment by YHVH as well as the vision.
Jehoiachin means “YHVH will establish,” so while Israel is in exile in judgment, for an extended period oftime and/or great while YHVH will establish or Jehoiachin Israel.
3. The word of Hashem (we know that Yashua is the word made flesh, and Hashem means The Name), so the word made flesh-Yashua comes to Ezekiel (YHVH will strengthen) son (seed/covenant bearer) of Buzi (means: #941 – to disrespect, contempt, despise. Why are we given the name Buzi? We through Adam carry the old nature of disrespect, contempt and despise the things of YHVH), the Kohen (yet, we are to be a royal priesthood a Chodosh nation), in the land (inheritance) of the Chaldeans (means: #3778 – as if so descended, astrologer. When you fail to walk out your calling as a people as a nation, we find ourselves in the land-inheritance of the astrologer, a type of nature we descend from vs. the land-inheritance of those who follow the moadim of YHVH), by the River Chebar (for an extended period oftime and/or great while), now; and the hand (authority/power) of Hashem (Yashua) came upon him there.
4. I saw (revealed), and behold (mystery)!, there was a stormy wind coming from the north (darkness), a great cloud (covering, veil, chuppa), with flashing fire (hmm, lightning flashes but does fire?) and a brilliance surrounding it; and from its midst, like the color ofthe Chasmal (we are told that this is a type of angelic being, but is it? What would be the need to tell us the color of an angelic being? 2830 chashmal khash-mal’ of uncertain derivation; probably bronze or polished spectrum metal:–amber) ITom the midst (middle) ofthe fire;
5. and in its midst (middle) there was a likeness (thought: children carry the likeness of their parents, because they are made in their image. We, the human race are the only part of the creation that carries the likeness of the father, nothing else does in that way, not even the angelic relm) of four Chayos (four living beings/creatures). This was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man (not likeness of angelic beings);
6. each one (Chaya) had four (4) faces (East-Judah, West-Ephraim, North-Dan, South-Reuben, and each one of them had four wings (tzit-tzit, fringes); The living being is a type and shadow ofthe Tabernacle. Since we are now the temple/tabernacle this is us-the Whole House of Israel in our glorified and restored form. The Tabernacle has four faces (E,W,N,S) and four comers or wings. The wings are the tzit-tzit (healing in the winds)
7. their legs were a straight leg (the straight leg is the menorah, is the two sticks made one stick-leg in the hand ofYashua, and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a rounded foot (the rounded foot is the base of the menorah, tree of life; it is the foundation), and they glittered (do we yet glitter?) with the color ofbumished (7044 qalal kaw-lawl’ from 7043; brightened (as if sharpened):–bumished, polished) copper (5178 nchosheth nekh-o’-sheth for 5154; copper, hence, something made ofthat metal, i.e. coin, a fetter; figuratively, base (as compared with gold or silver):–brasen, brass, chain, copper, fetter (of brass), filthiness, steel
8. there were human hands under their wings on their four sides (when we the Children of Israel were a tallit, our human hands are under the wings, the tzit-tzit which are on the four sides.) Their faces and their wings on the four of them (true!);
9. their wings (tzit-tzit; healing) were joined to one another (unless the whole house of Israel is joined there is no healing). They did not turn as they went (they did not need to); each in the direction of its faces would they go (yes, the would, why? because we are to move by the will and spirit ofYHVH. Each camp E-Judah,W-Ephraim,N-Dan,S-Reuben represents movement of and by and for the spirit. The moved in unison were Echad of one sprit, mind/heart, body. Whatever was required or needed of the House that is the direction of movement, but because the house is now Echad, it is fully empowered by the other 3 at any time.
10. as for the likeness of their faces: there was a human face (we are made in the image ofYHVH we carry the covenant and all it promises); and a lion’s (kingship, strength, mighty hunter, king of the beast; remember one of the first commands was to rule and subdue), face to the right for the four of them and an ox’s (strength, used for plowing-we plow through the land with the word ofYHVH for the purpose of restoration), face to the left for the four of them, and an eagle’s (moves by the spirit ofYHVH, has keen eyesight-has discernment, mates for life, protects and defends it’s nest-safeguards the charge the Torah, soars, lives separate from unclean things) face for the four of them.
Why these four? Weare to carry the covenant and all it’s promises, we are to carry kingship, strength and honor, we are to soar by the spirit, safeguard the charge-Torah, and have keen sight.
11. As for their faces: Their wings extended upward; for each two were joined to each other, and two were covering their bodies.
The wings (tzit-tzit) and their bodies. They are covered in and by the 613 commands the tzit-tzit or wings represent at all times.
12. Each in the direction of its faces would they go; toward wherever their was the spirit to go, they would go; they did not turn as they went.
13. As for the likeness ofthe Chayos (living beings/creatures); Their appearance was
like fiery coals (upon the altar?), burning like the appearance oftorches (always submitted to the will ofYHVH, a perpetual type of bum sacrifice-fully surrendered to his will); it spread about among the Chayos (living beings/creatures); there was a brilliance to the fire, and from the fire went forth lightning (could this lightning be a type of what we produce by a total surrender to YHVH’s will. Is this a type of humility that results in a brilliance that appears as lightning?
14. The Chayos (living beings/living creatures) ran to and fro (first and last, alev and tav, beginning and end, swift movement-we are to operate this way forever) like the appearance of a flash (no longer hindered by the old nature, now operating as a perpetual type of burnt sacrifice, wholly given over to the will ofYHVH and now humble, are we to appear this way?).
15. I saw the Chayos (living beings/living creatures) * and behold (mystery)! One Ofan (Wheel/moadim) was on the surface near the Chayos (living beings/living creatures) by its four faces (4 formation of the camp or Children of Israel).
16. The appearance of the Gfan (Wheel/moadim) and their nature were like the color of tarshish (rock crystal or beryl), with the same likeness for the four of them; and their appearance and their works were as ifthere would be a wheel within a wheel (the living creatures-children of Israel-us and the moadim are now echad; a wheel in the middle of a wheel. We the living being-children ofIsrael move by the moadim ofYHVH.
17. When they went, they would go toward their four sides; they did not turn as they went.
18. They had backs (this maybe a reference to Ephraim. The two sticks are now one in the hand ofYashua; the camp has it’s back. East is Judah, West is Ephraim. Until the two sticks become one in the hand ofYashua, Judah in a sense has no back; the rear of the Camp has no rear guard or safeguard to protect that part of the charge), and they were tall (fully empowered, no longer stunted in spiritual and physical growth by the burdens of sin), and they were fearsome (1 bet Adam before the fall; was. 1 think when the fall occurred, we do not fully understand not only how far we well, but just what we fell from). Their backs (rear guard) were full of eyes (complete spiritual discernment/vision. Nothing missed, no surprise attacks, etc.) surrounding the four (living beings-whole house of Irael-camp) of them.
19. When the Chayos (living beings/living creatures) would go, the Ofan (Wheel-moadim) would go next to them, and when the Chayos (living beings/living creatures) were lifted from upon the surface, the Ofan (Wheel/moadim) were lifted.
20. Toward wherever there was the spirit to go, they would go, there was the spirit to go; the Ofan (WheeVmoadim) were lifted facing them, for the spirit in the Chayah (living being-creature) was in the Ofan (Wheel/moadim) (The Ruach Hachodesh that controls the moadim which is YHVH is to be the same which controls us the living being-
creature) .
21. When the Chayos (living beings/living creatures) would go, the Ofan (Wheel/moadim) would go, and when they halted, they halted; and when they were lifted from upon the surface, the Ofan (Wheellmoadim) were lifted facing them, for the spirit in the Chayah was in the Ofan (Wheellmoadim).
22. There was a likeness of an expanse (chupp a or even like the tallit that was spread out from above that Peter say. When Peter sees it, it has various types of unclean animals on it, but now all things have been restored) above the heads (mind) of the Chayah (living being-creature), like the color of the awesome ice (7139 qarach kaw-rakh’ a primitive root; to depilate:–make (self) bald. 7140 qerach keh’-rakh or qorach {ko’-rakh}; from
7139; ice (as ifbald, i.e. smooth); hence, hail; by resemblance, rock crystal:–crystal, frost, ice?), spread out over their heads from above.
23. And beneath the expanse, their wings (tzit-tzit) were even (equally yoked) one with the other (echad); for each two covered them, and for each two covered them, their bodies.
24. I heard the sound (if we are walking as we should by the spirit ofYHVH his Torah the commands, it produces a sound that is to be heard) of their wings (tzit-tzit, 613 commands), like the sound of great waters (the whole house of the Children of Israel and the companions keeping the commands, praising YHVH, etc.), like the sound of Shadd ai, as they moved, the sound of a commotion, like the sound of a camp (the Children of Israel and the companions); when they would halt (be still at rest), they would release their wings.
25. There was a voice from above the expanse that was over their heads; when they would halt (be still at rest), they would release their wings.
26. Above the expanse that was over their heads was the appearance of sapphire stone in the likeness of a throne, and upon the likeness of the throne there was a likeness like the appearance of a man upon it, from above.
27 FIX…derivation; probably bronze or polished spectrum metal:–amber), like the appearance of fire inside it all around, from the appearance of his lions (the place where
the covenant is made) and upward; and from the appearance of his lions
(covenants) and downward I saw something like the appearance of fire, and
a brilliance surrounding it.
28. Like the appearance of a bow that would be in the clods on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brilliance all around. That was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of Hashem (Yashua)! When I saw, I fell upon my face (not backward), and I heard a voice speaking.
Ezekiel is given a vision of how the Children oflsrael are to be in their restored state, the four Chayos or living beings/creatures now walk echad with YHVH thru the Ofanim (wheels/moadim) ofYHVH. They are now brilliant, fearsome; they appear as flashes, as lightning, no longer hindered or confined by the sin nature. They are like Enosh, they are not (they are no longer confined by the sin nature and are now brilliant, fearsone, appearing as flashes as lightning.
