Parashat Beresheit
“In the beginning”
Gen 1:1 – Gen 6:8

Chapter One:
First Day

In the beginning of God’s creating the heavens and the earth — when the earth was astonishingly empty, with darkness upon the surface of the deep, and the Diving Presence hovered upon the surface of the waters — God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and God separated between the light and the darkness. God called to the light: “Day,” and to the darkness He called: “Night.” And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
The author’s comments will appear in blue. To make the reason simplier and easier to read and understand.
During a previous Torah cycle, we came to the conclusion, that some sort of judgement had occurred, resulting in darkness. Now YHVH commanded there to be light. I’m to take a step further at this command of YHVH’s. It is impossible for YHVH to tell a lie. For example, if he was to look at you, and you were wearing a blue shirt, and YHVH said that your shirt was white, your shirt would immediately turn white, as YHVH can not tell a lie. Therefore, when YHVH commanded there to be light, light HAD to existing and He saw that the light was good.
Now YHVH was stepping in to redeem the earth (or possibly heaven), thus resulting in the Light. And He further separated the light and the darkness. Light and darkness can not exists together. Therefore when YHVH called to the light, DAY and darkness NIGHT, he showed the natures of day and night.
He also established (or possibly RE-established) His time cycle. For it says there was EVENING and MORNING one day. Sundown to Sundown is how the days are to be counted.
Another good look at redemption is Ruth Chapters 2 and 3;
Second Day
God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it separate between water and water”. So God made the firmament, and separated between the waters which were beneath the firmament and the waters which were above the firmament. And it was so. God called to the firmament: “Heaven.” And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
I don’t even Strong’s himself fully understands what firmament is or means. The definition isn’t very clear, so I won’t even try to speculate. All I can say about the second day is that Heaven is created and there are waters above heaven and waters below heaven. This isn’t refered to as good, like the first day.
Third Day
God said, “Let the waters beneath the heaven b egathered into one area, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. God called to the dry land: “Earth,” and to the gathering of waters He called: “Seas.” And God saw that it was good. God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation: Herbage yielding seed, fruit trees yielding fruit each after its kind, containing its own seed on the earth.” And it was so. And the earth brought forth vegetation: herbage yielding seed after its kind, and trees yielding fruit, each containing its seed after its kind. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, a thir day.
From here forward symbolically “seas” represents nations and “earth” represents us without the Torah. “Trees” represents mature believers and the “fruit” of that tree represents spiritual gifts/giftings. “Herbage” represents younger believers and “seed” represents spiritual gifts/gifting however, there not well defined and fully understood and is spiritually immature.
One thing to ALWAYS remember is that the sun, moon and stars have not been created yet and the trees and herbage are growing by the light that was created on the first day.
Fourth Day
God said, “Let there be luminaries in the firmament of the heaven to separate between the day and the night: and they shall serve as signs, and for festivals, and for days and years; and they shall serve as luminaries in the firmament of the heaven to shine upon the earth.” And it was so. And God made the two great luminaries, the greater luminary to dominate the day and the lesser luminary to dominate the night; and the stars. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, to dominate by day and by night, and to separate between the light and the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

The sun, moon and stars are for to tell time according to YHVH’s appointed times. New moons or Rosh Chodesh’s, Festivals or Feasts such as Pesach (Passover), Yom Kippur, and for days and years. Days are important, the Sabbath day and also the 8th day is especially important. Also counting the days of the omer and many other times where days are to be counted before and after feasts.

Another symbolism of the Sun, Moon and Stars is there representation of Father, Mother and children. See Genesis 37:9; also another representation of Sun, Moon, and Stars is Yeshua, His Bride and children companions of the bride or the wedding party.
This day is also listed as good. Again the sun, moon and stars are to further separate between the light and the darkness.

Fifth Day
God said, “Let the waters teem with teeming living creatures, and fowl that fly about over the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” and God created the great sea-giants and every living being that creeps, with which the waters teemed after their kinds; and all winged fowl of every kind. And God saw that it was good. God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas; but the fowl shall increase on the earth.” And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

Waters symbolically represents sprit. So when it says that the waters teem with living creatures, it doesn’t clarify which waters, the ones above or the ones below heaven. This day is also called good. This is the first time that we see “be fruitful and multiply”. We will see this again on the 6th day. Birds are created on this day, birds represent the movement of the spirit, and how the spirit is utilized. Sea giants could represent giants in Torah coming out of the nations.

Sixth Day
God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures, each according to its kind: animal, and creeping thing, and beast of the land each according to its kind: And it was so. God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, and the animal according to its kind, and every creeping being of the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God Said, “Let us make Man in Our image, after Our likeness. They shall rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and over the animal, the whole earth, and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.” So God created Man in His image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea, the bird of the sky, and every living thing that moves on the earth.” God said, ‘Behold, I have given to you all herbage yielding seed that is on the surface of the entire earth, and every tree that has seed-yielding fruit; it shall be yours for food. And to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the sky, and to everything that moves on the earth, within which there is a living soul, every green herb is for food.” And it was so. And God saw all that He had made, and behold it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Earth’s living creatures are animal, creeping thing and beast of the land; Man is made in “Our” image. We are the made in the image of YHVH and the angelic realm. Man’s primary function is to rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every living thing that moves on the earth; We’re to “be fruitful and multiply”, fill the earth and subdue it. Earth has been given to man in all authority and power. It says here that man was made male and female, so even though at this point we don’t see Eve or Chavah, YHVH always intended for her to be created for Adam, man. This is the first time that we see the world “Behold”, whenever this word is used in scripture it represents a mystery being revealed. The mystery being revealed is in reference to the herbage yielding seed and every tree that has seed ielding furiti t it ours for food. so herbage yielding seed, “immature spirit” is ours but needs to be sowed culture and matured. Trees yielding fruit are mature beleivers who bear fruits of the spirit and use them to promote YHVH. all of it is food for us. There is an unending supply of this type of food for us.

Chapter Two
Seventh Day
Thus the heaven and the earth were finished, and all their array. By the seventh day YHVH completed His work which He had done, and He abstained on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. YHVH blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because on it He abstained from all his work which YHVH created to make.
YHVH establishes the first covenant between Him and us the day of rest or the Sabbath day. Then shows us how and why he created man.
These are the products of the heaven and the earth when they were created on the day that YHVH Elohim made earth and heaven — now all the trees of the field were not yet on the earth and all the herb of the field had not yet sprouted, for YHVH God had not sent rain upon the earth and there was no man to work the soil. A mist ascended from the earth and watered the whole surface of the soil. And YHVH God formed the man of dust from the ground, and HE blew into his nostrils the soul of life; and man became a living being.
The mist ascending from the earth, so mist rising up from the earth, represents the incense our prayers going up to YHVH.
YHVH Elohim planted a garden in Eden, to the east, and placed there the man whom He had formed. And YHVH Elohim caused to sprout fromt he ground every tree that was pleasing to the sight and good for food; also the Tree of Life in the midst of the garden, and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad.
Eden (paradise) was created for Adam to work. Eden was the prepared house for Adam and his bride, Eve where the Tree of Life stood in their midst. The Tree of Life represents Yeshua.
A river issues forth from Eden to water the garden and from there it is divided and becomes for headwaters. The name of the first is Pishon, the one that encircles the whole land of Havilah, where the gold is. The gold of that land is good; the bedolach is there, and the shoham stone. The name of the second river is Gihon, the one that encircles the whole land of Cush (Ethiopia). The name of the third river is hiddekel, the one that flows toward the east of Assyria; and the fourth river is the Euphrates.
Pishon – spread abroad, increase; Havilah – Bringing forth; trembling (with pain); circle; root = pang; pain; sorrow; especially of a pregnant woman. Gold – righteousness; Shoham stone – Urim and Thummim; Gihon – great breaking forth; Cush – “black”; Hiddekel – Tigris; The rapid swift; to be light; to be swift; riddle of lightness; Assyria – A step; to go straight on; to be fortuante; lifted up; exalted; level plain; Euphrates – fruitfulness; fruitful; fertile river; bear fruit;
YHVH Elohim took the man and placed him in the Garden of Eden, to work it and to guard it. and YHVH Elohim commanded the man, saying, “of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad, you must not eat thereof; for on the day you eat of it, you shall surely die.” YHVH Elohim said, It is not good that man be alone; I will make a him a helper corresponding to him.” Now, YHVH Elohim had formed out of the gorund every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would calle ach one; and whatever the man called each living creature, that remained its name. And the man assigned names to all the cattle and to the birds of the sky and to every beast of the field; but as for man, he did not find a helper corresponding to him.
Adam charge was to stay in the Garden of Eden. To work it and to guard it. Adam was to maintain the Garden and to protect it from disrepair and being run down. Adam was told that he could eat of any tree in the garden, but of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad, for on the day that he ate of it he would surely die. Adam was also given the assignment of naming all of the animals. What I find interesting here is that, “…and whatever the man called each living creature, that remained its name.” I like to explain this verse this way…. YHVH can not tell a like, and therefore, at this point neither can ADAM. So when Adam looked at the creature that he was naming, not only could he tell the characteristic of that creature but, once he named it, it’s nature or characterstics of the nature remained and could not be changed. So when he named the dog a dog, it could only act like a dog, be like a dog and operate as a dog. The dog therefore couldn’t start to act like a cat, or a bird, or an elephant. It could only be a dog.
There is alot of debate on this, that when Adam and Eve both ate of the fruit that they didn’t die. However, there’s an apsect of there life at this point that we can not fully understand. There spiritual side, and their physical side. Adam and Eve die in fact, die and according YHVH this was a result of their disobedience to his command, not to eat of the tree. However, we don’t know how this affected them spiritually.
YHVH also shows that he is going to make a helper corresponding to Adam. As a woman, I’ve read this verse over and over and I’ve finally come to this conclusion. Each woman designed by YHVH has been designed for a specific man. We correspond to that man and that man only. As two we become one whole and are to function as one whole, with YHVH as the supreme authority over the whole.
So YHVH Elohim cast a deep sleep upon the man and he slept; and he took one of his sides and he filled in flesh in its place. Then YHVH Elohim fashioned the side that he had taken from the man into a woman, and he brought her to the man. and the man said, “this time it is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. This shall be called Woman, for from man was she taken.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and cling to his wife and they shall become one flesh.. They were both naked, the man and his wife, and they were not ashamed.
When I’ve researched the word Woman, I find that in the Hebrew Adam called her wife. So Adam knew upon seeing her that she was his wife, his helper that corresponded to him. She was made from him and they were one whole.
Chapter Three
Now we see the serpent tempting the woman. The serpent was cunning and like most people who are cunning they try to exploit your weakness or the weakest link. The serpent attacks the woman first, as if he can bring her down this will automatically bring down the man.
Now the serpent was cunnign beyond any beastof the field that YHVH Elohim had made. he said to the woman, “Did, perhaps, Yah say: ‘You shall not eat of any tree of the garden’?” the woman said to the serpent, “Of the fruit of any tree of the garden we may eat. Of the fruit of the tree which is in the center of the garden Yah has said: ‘You shall neither eat of it nor touch it, lest you die.’ ” The serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die; for yah knows that on the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like yah, knowing good and bad.” And the woman perceived that the tree was good for eating and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable as a means to wisdom, and she took of its fruit and ate; and she gave also to ehr husband with her and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realized that they were naked; and they sewed together a fig leaf and made themselves aprons.
First and foremost, we see a dialogue between the woman and the serpent. When the serpent questioned what YHVH had already told Adam, what he could and could not do, the conversation between the woman and the serpent should have been over. We are like this, we agree with things, that we normally wouldn’t agree to or with and continue to discuss them with those who are cunning.
The woman tells the serpent, “..Of the fruit of the tree which is in the center of the garden, Yah has said: ‘You shall neither eat of it nor touch it, lest you die.’ ” The woman knows the rules, but doens’t fully understand the consequences of disobeying YHVH’s rules. The serpent knows this and says, You will not surely die; for Yah knows that on the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like Yah, knowing good and bad.
The serpent states that Yah is keeping something from the Adam and the woman, the ability to be like Yah and His knowledge of good and bad. Adam was given the charge to work the garden and to guard it. The serpent is what the Garden is to be guarded from. Anything or anyone that tries to nullify or change that what YHVH has established. Adam and the woman were never supposed to know BAD. Only good, only paradise (Eden).
Now the woman, believes that Yah has kept something from her and Adam, and she believes that the tree is good for eating; she sees delight in the fruit, and that the tree was desirable as a means to wisdom, [man’s knowledge] and she ate of the fruit, and so did Adam.
At this point, when the woman brought the fruit to Adam, before he ate of it, things could have been changed, if Adam had gone to YHVH. However, with him eating the fruit, a different type of atonement system was created. They ate of the fruit and relaized that they were naked. Now again there is much debate about this. About them being “lied” to. Adam and the woman, actually uncovered there own nakedness by eating of the fruit. Even though they were physically naked in the garden, vs 2:25, they weren’t ashamed. Because they were clothed and protected in the Garden. After eating the fruit they try to cover their own nakedness with fig leaves, that are sufficient enought to cover there nakedness physically but not spiritually.
They heard the sound of YHVH Elohim manifesting itself in the garden toward evening; and the man and his wife hid from YHVH Elohim among the trees of the garden. YHVH Elohim called out to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”
YHVH is all knowing and everywhere present. Notice how after both of them had ate of the fruit, we see YHVH manifest Himself in the garden. Also he asks Adam, “Where are you?”, Clearly this question isn’t because YHVH DOESN’T know where Adam is. The question is for Adam to recognize that he isn’t where he is supposed to be.
He said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid because I am naked, so I hid.” And he said, “Who told you that you are naked? Have you eaten of the tree from which I commanded you not to eat?”
Again, a question to Adam, who TOLD you that you are naked. YHVH already knew that Adam and his wife were naked. Adam not only tried to hide from YHVH, (who is ever present) but also tried to keep from admitting the mistake he made.
The man said,”the woman whom You gave to be with me — she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” And YHVH Elohim said to the woman, “What is this that you have done!” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me and I ate.”
The man doesn’t take the responsibility, he’s the uppermost authority over him and the woman. He places the blame on her. She places the blame on the serpent. We spend too much time on point fingers and trying to place blame or find fault, instead dealing with the situation at hand.
And YHVH Elohim said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, accursed are you beyond all the cattle and beyond all beasts of the field; upon your belly shall you go, and dust shall you eat all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her soffspring. He will pound your head, and you will bit his heel.”
YHVH then doles out the punishment for the disobedience, in accordance to their acts in the disobedience.
To the woman He said, “I willl greatly increase your suffering and your childbearing; in pain shall you bear children. yet your craving shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.”
To the woman, we have suffereing in childbearing, not just physically at the birth of the child but as the child grows and matures also. Yet we will crave our husband and he will rule over us. He has the final say. I know as a single female that I hear a lot of woman, say, why can’t he just be a man. yet they seek desperately for a husband. See Isiah 4:1
To Adam He said, “Beacuse you listened to the voice of your wife and ate of the tree about which I commanded you saying, ‘ You shall not eat of it,’ accursed is the ground because of you; through suffering shall youeat of it all the days of your life. Thorns and thistles shall it sprout for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. By the sweat of your brow shall you eat bread until you return to the ground, from which you were taken; For you are dust, and to dust shall you return.”
Adam listened to the voice of his wife over the voice of YHVH. As women we need to make sure that our husbands listen to YHVH and hear Him clearly and not let OUR voice distract him. The curse of the ground gets lifted with Noah. See Genesis 8:21-22, Parashat Noach
The man called his wife’s name Eve, because she had become the mtoher of all the living. And YHVH Elohim made for Adam and his wife garments of skin, and he clothed them.
Adam, now renames his wife, from “wife” to Eve (Chavah). YHVH provides proper atonement for their nakedness, because not only are they physically naked, but they are also spiritually naked and vulnerable.
And YHVH Elohim said, Behold Man has become like the Unique One among us, knowing good and bad; and now, lest he put forth his hand and take also fo the Tree of Life, and eat and live forever! So YHVH Elohim banished him from the Garden of Eden, to work the soil from which he was taken. And having driven out the man, he stationed at the east of the Garden of Eden the Cherubim and flame of the ever-turning sword, to guard the way to the Tree of Life.
Now that Adam and Eve know bad, they could eat of the Tree of Life and live forever, causing bad to exist forever. YHVH placed a Cherubim and the flame of the ever-turning sword at the entrace of the garden of Eden. We were never to know or understand bad. Only good.
Chapter Four
Now the man had known his wife Eve, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, “I have acquired a man with YHVH.” And additionally she bore his brother Abel. Abel became a shepherd, and Cain became a tiller of the ground. After a period of time, Cain brought an offering to YHVH of the fruit of the ground; and as for Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and from their choicest. YHVH turned to Abel and to his offering, but to Cain and to his offering he did not turn. This annoyed Cain exceedingly, and his countenance fell. And YHVH said to Cain, “Why are you annoyed, and why has your countenance fallen? Surely, if you improve yourself, you will be forgiven. But if you do not improve yourself, sin rests a tthe door. its desire si toward you, yet you can conquer it.”
Wow, this is classic. We allow our “countenance” attitude override what is right. This lets sin be right at our door and we open that door, welcome sin in, and FALL. We spend more time being jealous of our brother “Abel.” His offerings, sacrifices, role, job, and just about any other thing we can find to covet keeps our countenance fallen.
Cain spoke with his brother Abel. And it happened when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.
Now most people would say, I would never kill my brother. However, let’s take a deeper look at this. Have you gossiped or complained about someone? Without ever taking that complaint to that person. Rumors can “KILL” people. They destroy marriages, lives, and day to day living.
YHVH siad to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” And he said, “I do not now. Am I my borhter’s keeper?” Then He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground! Therefore, you are cursed mroe than the ground, which opened wide its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you work the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. You shall become a vagrant and a wanderer on earth.” Cain said to YHVH, ‘is my iniquity too great to be borne? Behold, You have banished me this day from the face of the arth — can I be hidden from Your presence? I must become a vagrant and a wanderer on earth; whoever meets me will kill me! YHVH said to him, Therefore, whoever slays Cain, before seven geneartions have passed he will be punished.” And YHVH placed a mark upon Cain, so that none that meet him might kill him. Cain left the presence of YHVH and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
There are a lot of different believes and stories about what happened here to Cain. Cain’s curse was that he could no longer be “a tiller of the ground”. Nothing that he sowed would grow. He would be a wanderer and a vagrant. Now that’s a huge curse. Nothing that he sowed would grow, or become fruitful and multiply. And he would be forever lost, wandering around. Never having firm roots. Because he allowed his countenance to fall and in his anger and jealousy he killed his brother. Taking away Abel’s ability to sow, multiply and be fruitful, and to place firm roots.
And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. He became a city builder, and he named the city after his son Enoch. To Enoch was born Irad, and Irad begot Mehujael, and Mehujael begot Methushael begot Lamech. Lamech took to himself two wives: The name of one was Adah, and the name of the second was Zillah. And Adah bore Jabal; he was the first of those who dwell in tents and breed cattle. The name of his brother was Jubal; he was the first of all who handle the harp and flute. And Zillah, too — she bore Tubal-cain, who sharpened all cutting implement s of copper and iron. and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.
Even though Cain has been marked, to keep someone from avenging the death of Abel, and cursed by having anything that he sows not grow, he marries and bears children. These are the chronicles of his line and his children.
And Lamech said to his wives, “Adah and Zillah, hear my voice; wives of Lemech, give ear to my speech: Have I lain a man by my wound and a child by my bruise? If Cain suffered vengeance at seven generations, then Lamech at seventy-seven!”
Lamech’s distress is because he has accidentally killed Cain. He knows of and is aware of the curse that will happen as it hasn’t been sever generations since Cain has killed Abel.
Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, because: “Yah has provided me another child in place of Abel, for Cain had killed him.” And as for Seth, to him also a son was born, and he named him Enosh. Then to call in the Name of YHVH became profaned.
Seth is “compensation” for the loss of their son Abel. The line of Adam continues on through Seth. In the time of Enosh calling in the name of YHVH has become profane. Hence why we now say Hashem, God, G-d, etc.
Chapter Five
This is the account of the descendants of Adam — on the day that Yah created Man, He made him in the likeness of Yah. He created them male and female. He blessed them and called their name Man on the day they were created — when Adam ha dlived one hundred and thiry years, he begot in his likeness and hisimage, and he named him Seth. And the days of Adam after begetting Seth were eight hundred years, and he begot sons and daughters. All the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.
Chapter Five begins the Chronicles of Adam leading up to the birth of Noah. Thus were going from the establishment of the Adamic convenant to the Noadic convenant. See Seven Covenants Study.
Seth lived one hundred and five years and begot Enosh. And Seth lived eight hundred and seven years after begetting Enosh, and he begot sons and daughters. All the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.
See Genesis Chapter 5 Study for the relevance of the name from Adam to Noah.
Enosh lived ninety years and begot Kenan. and Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years after begetting Kenan, and he begot sons and daughters. All the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.
Kenan lived seventy years and Mahalalel. And Kenan lived eight hundred and forty years after begetting Mahalalel, and he begot sons and daughters. All the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.
Mahalalel lived sixty-five years and begot Jared. And Mahalalel lived eight hudnred and thirty years after begetting Jared, and he begot sons and daughters. All the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died.
Jared live done hundred and sixty-two years and begot Enoch. And Jared lived eight hundred years after begetting Enoch and he begot sons and daughters. All the days of Jared came to nine hunred and sixty two years; and he died.
Enoch live dsixty-five years and begot methuselah. enoch walked with god for three hundred years after begetting methuselah; and he begot sons and dauthers. all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walke dwith Yah; then he was no more, for Yah had taken him.
Methuselah live done hundred and eighty seven years, and begot Lamech. And methuselah live done hundred and eighty seven years and begot Lamech. and Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty two years, and begot a son. and he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will bring us rest from our work and from the the toil of our hands, from the ground which YHVH had cursed.” Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years after begetting NOah, and he begot sons and daughters. all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died.
When Noah was five hundred years old, Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Chapter Six
And it came to pass when Man began to increase upon the ground and daughters were born to them, the sons of the rulsers saw that the daughters of man were good and they took themselves wives from whomever they chose. and YHVH said, “My spirit shall not contend evermore concerning Man since he is but flesh; his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.”
Because man was so sinful, Yahveh has limited our life span to 120 years. Now looking currently in 2006, the average life expactancy of 77.9 years (per the http://www.cdc.gov/). So our life expectancy is almost 42 years shorter than Yahveh has allowed for. Yahveh told Adam that if he ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad, that he would surely die. So disobedience causes death. It may not cause your death immediately but not only did Adam’s disobedience cause his death, but also that of all his children after him. By the time Noah is born, Yahvew has limited the life span of men to 120 years. Because our disobedience is so great our thoughts on our hearts are evil always. WHOA!
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days — and also afterward when the sons of the rulers would consort with the daughters of man, who would bear to them. They were the mighty who, from old, were men of devastation.
The KJV bible refers to the Nephilim as “giants” and upon further look their name refers to the word fallen. Alot of people refer to these “men” as fallen angels. I personally don’t believe this, because angels must be destroyed in order to die. Men die due to disobedience, ultimately I think these are men of Adam, who SO turned away from YHVH that they became giants in their fallen sinful nature. Not only were they fully aware of this nature, they embraced it and fully practiced it fully and solely. They rendered themselves in complete darkness.
YHVH saw that he wickedness of Man was great upon the earth, and that every product of the thoughts of his heart was but evil always. And YHVH reconsidered having made Man on earth, and He had heartfelt sadness. And YHVH said, “I will blot out Man whom I created from the face of the ground — from man to animal, to creeping things, and to birds of the sky; for I have reconsidered My having made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of YHVH.
Noah like, Enoch before him, walked with Yahveh and because of Noah we are still here. Like how Moses interceded on behalf of the Children of Israel time and time again, to keep Yahveh from destroying them and starting over with Moses. See Numbers 14:12.
