CRP – Day 2: Genesis 4 – 7

Chapter 4:

Adam and Eve bore Cain (the oldest). The bore Abel next. Abel was a shepherd and Cain a tiller of the ground.

Cain and Abel made offerings to YHVH. YHVH turned to Abel’s offering but not to Cain. This annoyed Cain EXCEEDINGLY (my emphasis) and his countenance fell.
YHVH asks Cain, why are you annoyed, and why has your countenance fallen? Surely if you improve yourself, you will be forgiven. But if you do not morose yourself, is rests at the door. It’s desire is towards you, yet you can conquer it. (Verses 6 & 7).
Cain kills Abel. YHVH asks Cain, where is his brother? YHVH doesn’t ask a question He doesn’t already know the answer to.  Abel says she doesn’t know,”Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Verse  9).
YHVH punishes Cain, “When you work the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. You shall become a vagrant and a wanderer on earth.” (Verse 12).
YHVH placed a mark upon Cain so that none that meet him might kill him. Cain left YHVH presence and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
Lame n descendant if Cain, kills accidentally Cain, he’s the 5th descendant. YHVH said if anyone killed Cain before 7 generations had passed they would be punished (Verse 15).
Aam and Eve have Seth. Seth has Enosh. Then to call in the Name of YHVH became profane.

Noah was 500 years old when he had Shem, Ham, and Japeth.
Chapter 6:

YHVH limits the days of man to 120 years.
Verses 6 – 8
“And YHVH reconsidered having made Man on earth, and He had heartfelt sadness. AndYHVH said, I will blot out Man whom I created from the face of the ground — from man to animal, to creeping things, and to birds of the sky; for I have reconsidered My having made them. But Noah found grace I the eyes of YHVH.”
