CRP – Day 24: Genesis 35 – 37

Chapter 35:

YHVH tells Jacob to go to Bethel. Jacob tells his household to discard all of the alien gods and they went t Bethel. Deborah the wet nurse of Rebecca dies, she is buried below Bethel, in Allon-bachuth. (Oak of weeping).
YHVH tells Jacob again that his name is now Israel.  Rachel gives birth the Benjamin on the road to Ephrath “fruitful”. Rachel calls him Ben Oni “son of mourning” but Jacob calls him Benjamin “son of right hand. Rachel died on the road in Ephrath which is Bethlehem. Reuben lays with Bilhah, Rachel’s maid servant, and Israel heard.
Isaac dies at 180 years old, Esau and Jacob buried him.
Chapter 36:
The descendants of Esau. They’re we’re 12 chieftains.
Chapter 37:
Jacob settles in the and of Canaan. Joseph is now 17 years old. Joseph would bring evil reports to Jacob his father about his brothers. Israel loved Joseph kore than all his sons and he made him a fine woolen tonic. His brothers saw their father loved Joseph the most and they cold not speak peaceably to Joseph.
Joseph begins to dream dreams.
1st dream:
Bending of the sheaves in the field and his sheaf remains standing but all of their sheaves bow down to his sheave.
2nd dream:
The sun, moon and 11 stars were bowing down to him.
Israel tells Joseph to go to Shechem and check o. His brothers and the flocks and being him back word. Joseph goes to Shechem but an angel tells him That his brothers have left and went to Dothan.
His brothers see him from afar and they plan to kill him. Reuben tells them to not kill him. He intended treturn  him to their father. When Joseph came they stripped him of his tunic and threw him not the out. A caravan of Ishmaelites were coming from Gilead on their way to Egypt. Judah says to his brothers, “what gain will thee be if we kill our brother and cover it up his blood? Come, let us sell hi. T the Ishmaelites — but let our had not be upon him, for he is our brother, our own flesh.” They agree. Midianite traders drew hi up it of the pit. The Ishmaelites paid 20 pieces of silver for Joseph. They dipped his tonic n blood and return to their father. 
Jacob rent his clothes and placed sackcloth on his loins, he mourned his son for many days.he refused to comfort himself. Joseph was sold to Potiphar, a courtier of Pharaoh, the Chamberlain of the Butchers.
